Supermare Makybe Diva (Desert King x Tugela) is the only Thoroughbred horse in history to have won Australia's prestigious Melbourne Cup three times and in successive years. In fact, she is one of only five horses to have won the Cup more than once in the 145+ year history of the event! Makybe Diva was named Australian Champion Racehorse of the Year and also received the titles of Most Popular Racehorse and Champion Stayer in 2005. When Makybe Diva retired, she was the highest stakes-earner in Australasian horse racing history.
